Stormy days

Why does everything seems to go wrong recently?! The streak of bad luck has seriously left me feeling breathlessly resigned. Hopefully things can only get better from now onwards.

3 days to first day of blocks. Why do i feel doomed?! =(

Away to a brighter future

Camp Pandan (Yea. Weird name, i know. Blame Ulu Pandan Community Center for coming up with the name.) It was an eye-opener, an experience which i have never had. Camp Pandan is a service learning project that Shiing, Zijin, Keejia and I have undertaken. It is a camp for delinquents, meant for them to gain new experiences and hopefully learn a thing or two in the process and repent. For this project, we worked together with the police force and Ulu Pandan CC. I dare say that it was a totally new experience. I've been living in a bubble all these while, surrounding myself with people not unlike myself. While i'm aware of the existance of people with different backgrounds, people who have less than ideal records in the eyes of the law, they never seem so real before as i have never had an encounter with them. Spending three days and two nights with these kids changed my mindset about them. Initially, i was afraid that they would be rowdy, uncontrollable kids; but in reality, they are just like any other kid. Ok, they might be slightly more mischievious, slightly more energetic and loud. (Some are also plain rude and fights do break out way too often) However, i also found out that they are indeed very clever, innovative and multi-talented. (Some cansing really well, some play football really well) They are the bunch most street-wise kids i have ever met. If given the chance to hone their skills and polish their talents, i have no doubt that they will grow up as good kids with a bright future.

Thanks Shiing, Zijin and Keejia for being such great committee members, for tolerating me when i was busy with OAC stuffs and for me being absent when i was back in Malaysia.

Thanks Guenyik, Jingxi and Jerrold for coming down to help out with the campfire! They said it was the best campfire yet! LOL.

Went windurfing yesterday. Tiring, but fun! It was tough balancing at first but once you get the hang of it, it's enjoyable. With the wind blowing behind you and you gliding across the water, it feels as if you could throw all your worries behind. Anyway, abrassions sucks=(

Like the steam, we are as warm as ever.

Went to NEW's house for steamboat yesterday, along with a few friends whom i've not seen in a very long time. It was enjoyable. And to tell the truth, i was actually relieved. I was actually afraid that after three and a half years apart, we wouldn't be able to click. Thank goodness that that wasn't the case last night. It was much fun catching up, talking and listening to Chilli's jokes (which were actually quite funny la), preparing food, eating, debating and helping HY's with his speech, and basically just chilling and hanging out. Thanks guys! It's good to know that no matter how time passes, some things will never change.

Watched England vs USA last night with CY, HY and JY. Well, not literally with them but we were watching it together separately at our respective homes. NEW even watched till half time, an achievement i dare say. Lol. Really wish all of us could have watched it together. I can imagine the screams and the anticipation while we all hoped for another England goal as they failed to deliver the final touch to many chances. A disappointment, but i didn't regret staying up to watch it.

I am glad that last night happened.

Went out forFont size dinner today. Jap=) My favourite! Recommended choya (recommended to me by guen) to my parents and we ordered one bottle to complement dinner. It was nice. Sweet. But you can still taste the liquor as you savour it in your mouth. (More of a ladies drink i would say) Had a superb dinner. Sashimi and sushi!

I love being home!

I.need.to.mug! Easier said than done, especially when i am back home.

速度再快也追不回承诺

I'm home!!! And it feels nice.

Today was definitely a first, flying home during a heavy rain. My plan to take a peaceful journey by public transport to the airport was dashed by the heavy rain. Spent half an hour trying to phone a cab. And guess what, my cab fare to the airport cost more than my air fare! Oh, the irony of it! Still, i had a very nice conversation with the taxi uncle all the way to the airport. He was kind enough to help me with my luggage and told me to "小心一点" and wished me a happy trip home. It's always heartening to see friendly faces and smiles in a world that is becoming increasingly hostile. Maybe that's not the correct word to use. People are not hostile, generally, there are too busy and absorbed in their own world that they tend to forget to slow down and live life at the moment. It's sad when a person is too busy for even a split second smile.

Oh, saw Wendy's facebook personal message: Don't get mad when a girl cares to much, worry when they start to not give a damn. Lol. This, i feel, is true. The same can also be said for guys.

I've always wanted to watch Hachiko: A Dog's Story. When it opened in the cinemas quite a while back, i was too busy to catch it. Finally watched it today! With my mon. And trust me, it's good! I cried my eyes out watching it. And believe it anot, even my brother, who usually teases me for crying at movies, teared. So, i strongly recommend this show! Especially if you are a dog lover like me! It's amazing how loyal dogs are to their owners. The special bond shared between a dog and a human being cannot be explained by mere words. A pet dog is not just an animal, it is family. Oh! And i think Akikas are pretty dogs. I might get one someday. And a Golder Retriever. And a Siberian Husky. But i doubt i would. It's too cruel to make a Husky live in such humid and hot conditions. Or maybe, i would just live elsewhere in the world. Anyway, how nice it would be if i have a dog like Hachiko, one that would walk with me to school and wait for me after school. I'm definitely getting a dog in the future! No doubt about that!

Went to Inti Nilai today to learn more about education. Lol. My mom was kind enough to drive me to the hostel where i met YYY, chatted for a while before i had to leave.

I need to be more disciplined. And more committed. I shall not waste away my holiday back home.

i want to be a scientist so that i can invent a time machine.

Ok. Seriously, how did 7 days of my june break pass me by just like that?

Taking SATs tomorrow. Hopefully i do well enough not to have to do it a second time.

Shall blog about yesterday.
Went out with (JY) square yesterday. Lol. Had lunch. Ate till my stomach was crying for me to stop. Went to Sentosa! Went to Universal studios!! (If you believe. Lol. Just stood outside. Gazing in longingly.) Glanced at the casino wondering why so many people like to gamble. Saw a nice car=)Travelled along Siloso beach in the tram.
Oh! One important thing that JY asked me to type in my blog: SHE TOOK THE MRT FOR THE FIRST TIME YESTERDAY!! After that went back to school, wild boar, jerry and surprise were there. Tried to mug! (was fairly successful la)

Mugged today again with Adelyn, chunkit and joofei. Learnt alot about unis from lyn. Thanks girl!

I conclude that i cannot study in the hostel. I need to go outside to mug, places like starbucks, or just some random coffee shop. There are too many distractions in the hostel. (Actually, not many. Just the bed is enough to distract me from studying. And not to mention the horrid weather!)

SATs tomorrow! I shall go to bed early today. I have been sleeping pretty early this few days. Maybe it's cause i still haven't repaid my sleep debt yet. LOL.

You know what's weird?! I can't wait to go home. But yet, i want to be in Singapore. It's complicated.

sands of time

Ok. Feeling less agitated today. Shall do what i have not done in a very long time- blog about my day. (or rather blog about yesterday!)

Kid's camp. Hmm.. I've forgotten how cutes kid can get, and also how naughty and hyperactive they can be. They can be clingy, wanting to hold on to your hand always; they can be playful, playing the "shooting game" with you whenever they see you; Lol. I miss being a kid, i really do. (Though i do admit that i still act like one at times.) Jurong bird park with 30+ kids was definitely an experience, and especially fun since i share the experience with 19 other batchmates. Picnic at the park for lunch with 35th was definitely the highlight of that day. And the epic quote by KY to J, "how many kids do we have har?" LOL.

Went for a movie after that as a batch. 20 of us went in and occupied two rows. We watched Prince of Persia. WX laughed loudly (more like roared) at weird moments and once again we passed food around. I felt happy. (for the lack of a better word.) Too bad not all 22 of us could make it.

After that we bought dinner and sat in a circle at the rooftop garden. Had fun watching D and J trying to break bubblewrap record.

I don't know how to put this into words, but a simple day like this with 35th really made me realise how far we have come as a batch. Lol. 35th, thanks for being a bunch of good friends and jokers. I never fail to laugh when we are together.

Went to the airport today, with wild boar, air chief and the "failed" land chief to mug. Lol. We had our turns on the slide. Felt a bit awkward in the queue as surrounding us were kids less than half my height. One kid even asked whether "adults" were allowed on the slides. Today was pretty productive, despite the fact that we had to remind ourselves that we were here to study and not to shop! (Wild boar and her tax free shopping!!) Lol.

SATs in 3 days. And i've hardly started studying for it.

Days are gliding pass my fingers like grains of sand. No matter how hard i try, i cannot grasp hold onto them.

listening ear

(Just typed a super uber long entry and deleted it all again.)

My head's in a mess.

Last official event today. Maybe that's why i'm feeling what i'm feeling now.

The real work begins.
