Time. Money.

Comanches with GIs and Rovers.

Kayaking today was fun though admittedly i had trouble getting my kayak to move in a straight line for more than a minute. We had fun capsizing so much that instead of doing it once like what was required of us, jiaxi, rayna and I did it twice each. I'm proud to say that all of us passed our 1-STAR kayaking today! After that, all 20 of us went to Suntec for lunch. We did the same thing we did for our meet-ex last time- everyone bought their own food and we gathered at the area near the Fountain of Wealth. Did food cheer super-ultra-softly! Lol. After that, a few of us went to the Fountain of Wealth to make a wish, wishing that YL Night would be a success!

We were there early so we started camwhoring!

The only ones from Comanches at Kayaking today.

Waiting for the rest - why are they so slow?!

After washing up!

Oh ya, i didn't run 2.4km this morning as i was too tired and went back to sleep, but i ran just now at 8.30pm. My timing sux! Shall have to practice if i want to maintain an A for 2.4! Shall run again 2morrow.

I am really broke. Seriously, i think the money i used for four months this year is even more than the money i used for the whole of last year. Everything needs money! Even Asean Comm is asking us to pay money first so that we can organise Asean Night for the scholars. Hopefully we sell enough tickets or there goes my money again! Meeting 2morrow to recee venue for Asean Night and I have not touched my pile of tutorials! I feel the need for more time! Shall wake up super early tomorrow to do work! This is going to be one super busy term!
Exactly 1 week to YL Night! Jia you OASIS!!

Just like old times

I slacked the whole good Friday away! But still, it was a pretty meaningful day considering the fact that i used it to catch up with friends whom i have not met in a while.

It's Shenhui's birthday today! We (Shiauhaln and me) tricked her into believing that Mrs Tan wanted to meet us. Blind folded her soon after she got off the bus and led her to a secret venue! It was pretty hilarios and the bus driver was pretty amused. A woman even got up from her seat and offered it to her! I think Shenhui was surprised because she actually believed the lie about the meeting with Mrs Tan. She though that we had forgotten her birthday which of course we wouldn't! Treated her to lunch at Cafe Cartel and we chatted and laughed all the way through. Shiauhaln commented on my increased/huge appetite. I cleared the table when they stopped eating long time ago. It's all YLTC's fault!! Lol.

After Shenhui left, Zhijing and Jinyin came and the four of us had an ex-Kwang Hua Prefectorial Board gathering! Lol. Cool right?! Gathering at a foreign country where all of us are from the same secondary school and prefectorial board in Malaysia. We relived all times by talking about them. Talked about sukan, combined camp, the prefect trip we had in form 1, all the diff majlis and also little stuffs like "kelengkapan" (Shiauhaln actually forgot what kelengkapan is!! Can u believe it?!) We did silly stuffs like trying to translate English to Malay. My Malay is seriously rusty! And i think i forgot all about grammar! We had dinner together. Wanted to catch "Fast and Furious 4" but it was not meant to be. We went to 2 cinemas but it was sold out in both! In the end, we ended up sitting and chatting the whole night away!

Kayaking at Kallang tomorrow with OASIS! Looking forward to it! But before Kayaking, i shall wake up early and go to the gym at 6.30am to practice my 2.4km run. Shall go sleep now.

One step closer

I'm a bit more relieved now. At least we got the venue settled and the catering planned out. (Just have to choose the menu now. Shall ask everyone's opinion on Sat during Kayaking.) We went down to recee another potential venue today and i am glad to say that today's "outing" was a fruitful one. *Sigh of relief* Although things were not perfect, we shall "qiong" on that day and do our best! After recee-ing the place, Rachel went home. The rest of us went for dinner. Seriously, i am broke! Most of us ended up eating prata for dinner=.=

I feel bad for not going for dinner with the Crescentians or for movie with the Malaysians today. Sorry guys! Will try to make it next time!

For some reason, i had a pretty bad mood in school today. Problems creep up and i am at a lost to how to solve them. Oh ya, interview today was interesting. I was actually quite nervous for it but managed to nap for 45 mins before that. Was actually still not fully awake when i walked in for the interview. Had a few weird questions but most of them were actually quite serious ones. But seriously, after it was done i felt so much more relaxed!

I'm thankful for the long weekend. But actually, it isn't really a weekend considering the fact that it is actually packed! Reminder to Oasis: Start studying for BIO!!!

To LWQ(who i don't think reads my blog): Happy birthday!!

Decrescendo

Today was a very weird day. It started out on a high note and ended on a kinda low note. Oh, we declared the benches at the canteen the "junior OAC bench" 2day since we are not allowed to sit at the official OAC bench. I think it was a pretty brilliant idea. We pulled the benches together and sat down there. It was supposed to be an "OAC breakfast" but i only remember Suhuan eating. The rest of us were practically just stoning-talking-joking-discussing YL night-discussing batch performance-discussing batch item-disscussing batch shirt-etc. Lol. It got pretty funny when Rachel said that we can now suan the seniors and tell them that they are not allowed to sit on our bench, just like how we are not allowed to sit on theirs. The turnout for OAC breakfast today was encouraging- many of us actually came. We should have more similar gatherings as a batch. I hope this lasts.

Handed in PI today. I went over the word limit of 500 words by 170 words. I really have no idea how to summarise it further. Summarising it any further would make it incomprehensible!

Had post-mortem today at the Fishtank at 3 o'clock. Tried staring fiercely at Val, Maverick, Sharlene and Shihuan for coming late but i failed terribly. Couldn't hide that smirk on my face. But Kwunwa was pretty serious though, rambling on about punctuality. Post-mortem was entertaining. We kept digressing. Oh ya, Wenxuan saves the number 999 under police in his handphone. And he uses a picture of Mas Selamat as his wall paper. His reason being: in case i forget how he looks like. I'm doing my part as a responsible citizen. Lol. It was entertaining watching Val trying to steal Kwunwa's baked potato.

Called up Safra and they gave us the price for booking the venue. Did some last minute researches at Fishtank and in the end, Jiaxi, Wenxuan and I went down to Bishan to recee some places that we called previously. During the bus journey, we tried to make Jiaxi confuse . Haha. But in the end the place was a bit too tiny in my opinion. So basically we still don't have a confirmed venue yet. Will be doing more research tonight. Am feeling kinda worried now. Out of desperation, we asked Jiajun whether we could hold it in school. He gave us a 'No!'. Lol. Expected, but still worth a try. So ya, we spent a few hours looking for suitable places that everyone would agree to but we failed and that was the reason my day ended in a low note.

Last day of OAC interviews tomorrow, and i am the first of the last. Lol. For some wierd reason i am feeling a tad nervous. I wonder what kind of weird questions i would get? According to my batch mates, i should just crap my way through if i cannot answer any of the questions. Lol. Should i mug the YL booklet? Ok. Mayb not. Hopefully everything goes well tomorrow. Fingers-crossed!

A new chapter

Oh well. In case anyone was wondering, I didn't get into council. How do i feel? I actually don't really know. My first reaction was, "Oh well. My name's not in. Ok." Second reaciton, "Yes, i'll be able to go for 1 star kayaking on Sat!" Friends came around asking, "Are you ok? Don't be too disappointed." I gave all of them a big smile and told them that i don't really mind. But to say that i am not disappointed and i don't mind would be a lie.

I love my OAC mates the best! They came around, asked me "You got in? [shakes head] YES!! Congratulations!!" Haha. Especially Kenn, Celene, Derek and Guenyik. They are really comical and this made me feel so much better. I 自high-ed with Sarah, Rachel, Kenn, Suhuan and Wenxuan at 天堂after that. (Btw, digessing abit, i love 天堂. It's one of my favourite places in school.) We did food cheers and reported to mams n sirs today. The expressions on the seniors' faces were priceless. It made me forget all about the disappointment of not getting into council and i'm happy to say that i'm over it already.

Coming to think about it now, over the past week, i have been thinking of things i need to forgo if i get into council. One part of me wants to join council but the other part of me doesn't because i am already too attached to OAC. It's hard to explain how i feel. My ideal situation will be to get into council and also remain an active member of OAC. But that senario seems highy impossible(according to seniors). I feel disappointed not to be elected into council. Yet i feel relieved because i can remain as part of OAC. (Actually, i'm not really considered part of OAC yet, there are still interviews to go through. but somehow, our batch feels so much like a batch that we forget that it's not official yet.) Fingers-crossed, i really do hope that i will get into OAC!

Ok, a chapter of my life has been closed. A new one will unfold. I did not make it into council, no big deal! The campaigning process is an experience that i will always cherish (despite the sum of money spent.)

For now, I'll just put in my best effort for OAC! GO OASIS!! Jia you for interviews!!

Eventful weekend

First thing's first: Connection in the boarding school sux to the max!!

Ok. Two memorable things to blog about this weekend. First, LUMOS on Friday night! Lumos is a charity concert held to raise awareness and funds for Pathlight- a school for the autistic children. It was pretty enjoyable as i got to meet up with my Secondary school friends -Chensy, Pris and Mel- people whom i've not seen since the start of JC life. Chensy was performing and the rest of us grabbed front row seats so as to stare at her when she performs. We screamed words of encouragement to her when she was onstage. Couldn't tell whether she was embarrassed though as she kept a straight face. Boy, does she looked fierce. Quoting Mel, she could be named "the lao da in our gang". Lol. Anyway, sad that i couldn't join u guys for supper after that. We had so much left to catch up on! Hopefully we will have a gathering sometime soon, one where all 8 of us would attend!

Second, Saturday night- Apollo ad-hoc event "WAH" (stands for We Are Hot) Lol. PKJ looked so cute as the representative of our class' Fac Princess. The funniest thing was the 默契game. NKY and PKY had a pact that if the question ended with a consonent they will show a no sign and if the question ended with a vowel they will show a yes sign. The question was "Does your Fac Prince have a fettish for red underweaR?" PKJ showed a yes sign and NKY showed a no sign. The cute PKJ thought that underweaR is spelled as underwarE!! I salute you PKJ!! I totally couldn't stopped laughing when i learnt about it! "Banana King" was entertaining too though it was a pity that each class was only allowed 2 representatives. BBQ was pretty fun though we took FOREVER to get the fire lighted. I TOTALLY LOVE ROASTED MARSHMELLOWS!! Especially the kind which is just right - crispy and hard on the surface yet sticky and melted on the inside! YUMMY!! "Blades of Glory" was screened but i did not pay attention to it, prefering instead to focus on the BBQ. Haha. After the event ended, S77 went to the futsal court and we had Peer Appreciation. At first, many people grumbled and thought that it was a waste of time but once it got started, i guessed we opened up. It was a waste that the guard came and chase us away while we were halfway through it. I'm not sure whether they continued it elsewhere as i had to return to the Boarding School as it was getting late.

I should get my PI over and done with!! So much for rumours last year saying that Project Work will be taken away from A levels for my batch=.=

1/2

Had the introduction of nominees today. Apollo's was held in the auditorium and it was very cold- so cold that my hands were shivering and my teeth were chattering. Rubbing my hands together and breathing into them did little to warm me up. To tell you the truth, i was shivering badly before going on stage, not because i was nervous but because i was freezing. I enjoyed watching all the campaign videos of the nominees and some of the speeches were pretty witty while others were pretty impressive. As for my campaign group- SUPERCALIFRAGILISTICEXPIALIDOCIOUS, we finally started our gimmick today and gave out free packets of Milo to every Apollo student. As for our speech and video, i think we did our best and now, we can only hope for the best.
