Friends ♥

Ok. Didn't like the look and feel of my previous post so i shall make it a happy one now!

Had tonnes of fun over the weekend. In fact, so much fun that i'm sad that it's over. Thanks guys! You all are the best! =) To Eng Wee, Kay Xin and Mei Ching: All the best in your chapter overseas! To Heng Yee: Thanks! For the present! And for being a good friend. To Ben: We'll work hard and achieve our goals! Thank you for telling me what i needed to know. To KJ: We don't need words, but still thanks! I'm really glad u r my best friend.

So what if the world pushes u down once more? So what if that is what i got (for now!) It's good that i felt the way i felt today. It's good that at least there's still some emotions left in me. THIS IS THE TURNING POINT!

From today onwards, i shall be a happy person once more!

Fatigue

Tired. Of failing.
Tired. Of hoping.
Tired. Of waiting.

Tired. Of disappointment.

The (not so) beautiful game of football

SPAIN WON THE WORLD CUP!!! =)
In a match that is frustrating to watch. With a player on his butt every other minute and the referee dishing out yellow cards as if they were christmas cards, this is officially the best game of the whole world cup to me. (Bear in mind that i watched only three, including this. The other two being the England-USA match and the Spain-Germany quarter final.) Watching it with good friends in a cosy house makes it all the more memorable. (The Spain-Germany match in the boarding school dining hall was a scary affair, with people screaming at "handsome" players and without reason.) I like Spain's passing. But truthfully, both sides could have played better football with less fouls. Oh, Iker Casillas is damn cute! He cried when Iniesta scored the goal! And when the match ended. And he couldn't stop crying. That guy is amazing! As a player, as a goalkeeper and as a captain. (Allow me to gush for a just a while.) Lol. So, the world cup fever has passed. It's back to business as usual. No more sleepless nights.

It suddenly struck me that prelims and the A Levels are not far away and are in fact just around the corner. It frightens me how unprepared i still am. 2 years ago for O levels, i was already brimming with confidence at this stage. But now, the grades reflected are yet up to par. What's worse is that everyone besides myself seems to have confidence in me. Right then, i can do this! I will do this! Gotta start studying for A Levels now. No more excuses!
And guess what?! i cannot wait for July 25th!!

Now till the end of the year...

The junior's investiture was held yesterday. It also translates to the 35th officially stepping down yesterday. For a period of time, i was actually quite sad about stepping down, but i no longer am. Because i know that nothing would be different. Come tomorrow morning, we would still gather at the OAC bench before the morning bell, mugging, sleeping, crapping, laughing. Everything would be as per normal. Throughout our one-year-term, i'm thankful for the 21 of you for standing beside me, making my JC life all the more bearable and meaningful. I really cannot imagine college life without the 21 of you and i couldn't have asked for better batch mates! Thanks alot 35th! Now that we've stepped down officially, let's jia you and mug our asses of for A LEVELS!! STRAIGHT As!!!

To the 36th, i've said this yesterday but i'll say it again, all the best and good luck for your term. The year ahead would be tough, especially with only 13 of you, but i have full confidence in you and am looking forward to your achievements. With the leadership of your CI, i am sure that the 36th would bring OAC to greater heights!

I hate farewells. And i suck at them. I always don't know what to say, and i'll keep fairly silent and expressionless. Take care in Aussie k, guenyik?! You are the bestest ACI any CI could ask for and i don't look forward to days without you=( Jia you over there at the land of the Koalas! I miss you much already=(

Mugging at the airport after sending Guen off was fairly productive. Thanks Jingxi, Kenn, Daniel and Junxian for crapping so much that i have no time to feel sad! You guys never fail to make me laugh at the things you say.

I was a tad bit sceptical about the world recently but it's good to know that kindness still exist in it. Thanks Alex, for getting me a new SIM card! And thanks Raash for the phone! I'm really grateful for your help=)

Blocks starting tomorrow! Breathe...

Stormy days

Why does everything seems to go wrong recently?! The streak of bad luck has seriously left me feeling breathlessly resigned. Hopefully things can only get better from now onwards.

3 days to first day of blocks. Why do i feel doomed?! =(

Away to a brighter future

Camp Pandan (Yea. Weird name, i know. Blame Ulu Pandan Community Center for coming up with the name.) It was an eye-opener, an experience which i have never had. Camp Pandan is a service learning project that Shiing, Zijin, Keejia and I have undertaken. It is a camp for delinquents, meant for them to gain new experiences and hopefully learn a thing or two in the process and repent. For this project, we worked together with the police force and Ulu Pandan CC. I dare say that it was a totally new experience. I've been living in a bubble all these while, surrounding myself with people not unlike myself. While i'm aware of the existance of people with different backgrounds, people who have less than ideal records in the eyes of the law, they never seem so real before as i have never had an encounter with them. Spending three days and two nights with these kids changed my mindset about them. Initially, i was afraid that they would be rowdy, uncontrollable kids; but in reality, they are just like any other kid. Ok, they might be slightly more mischievious, slightly more energetic and loud. (Some are also plain rude and fights do break out way too often) However, i also found out that they are indeed very clever, innovative and multi-talented. (Some cansing really well, some play football really well) They are the bunch most street-wise kids i have ever met. If given the chance to hone their skills and polish their talents, i have no doubt that they will grow up as good kids with a bright future.

Thanks Shiing, Zijin and Keejia for being such great committee members, for tolerating me when i was busy with OAC stuffs and for me being absent when i was back in Malaysia.

Thanks Guenyik, Jingxi and Jerrold for coming down to help out with the campfire! They said it was the best campfire yet! LOL.

Went windurfing yesterday. Tiring, but fun! It was tough balancing at first but once you get the hang of it, it's enjoyable. With the wind blowing behind you and you gliding across the water, it feels as if you could throw all your worries behind. Anyway, abrassions sucks=(
